FAQ
Q: What type of bike do I need?
A: Any working mountain bike will get you started, however, more advanced riders will likely need bikes with disc brakes and sufficient gearing. If you are unsure about your bike, please contact us. We don’t want any kids to miss out due to lack of a bike.
Q: What if I am a slower rider?
A: We have coaches for all levels and abilities. Riders will learn skills and set goals to get the most out of their experience on the team. You’ll ride with a group with similar riding abilities while you learn to conquer the trails.
Q: Do I have to try-out to be on the team?
A: No. The mountain bike team is a club organization. All riders are welcome!
Q: When and where are practices?
A: Practices are on Monday, Thursday and Saturdays. The team practices at a variety of locations including Western Nevada College, Jacks Valley Trail, and Centennial Park.
Q: Can my parents be volunteers? What if my parent want to be a coach?
A: YES!! We are all volunteers and are always accepting new volunteers and coaches. No experience necessary and training will be provided.
